Evanston/Skokie District 65 is celebrating eighth grade graduation this week, with ceremonies on both Tuesday and Wednesday. This year, 746 eighth graders are graduating from the district.
Chute Middle School, Haven Middle School, the Dr. Bessie Rhodes School of Global Studies and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Literary and Fine Arts School honored their eighth graders Tuesday. Park School and Nichols Middle School will celebrate Wednesday.

“The future grows brighter because of your perspective and exceptional talents,” Superintendent Angel Turner said in a video message. “The world urgently needs visionary minds like yours to craft a better future for the generations to come.”
Turner also told students that their success is not based on academics alone, but on how they impact other individuals. She encouraged them to uplift others and work to make their community a better place.
You can watch Turner’s full remarks to the graduates at the 24:30 mark of this live stream of the Haven graduation Tuesday evening at Evanston Township High School.
