Emerson Street will be intermittently closed to eastbound traffic from Orrington Avenue starting Wednesday, October 9. The closure will occur intermittently from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. to accommodate roof-related construction activities requiring the use of a motor crane.
During this time, a detour will redirect traffic to Orrington Avenue and Foster Street. Limited access will be available for Northwestern University buildings only.
The closure is expected to last through October 31, 2024 depending on potential weather delays. Motorists should anticipate delays, allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs. Please be mindful of work zones, obey speed limits, and watch for construction workers and equipment.
